Not too long ago, we made the decision as a family to homeschool our two oldest kids at least for a year or two. That meant that I would be their teacher and be in charge of making sure my oldest children learned the same lessons, if not more, that they would learn in public school. I did my homework and found many great resources for curriculum but one that worked really well for our children was Splash Math.
If you haven’t heard of Splash Math, it’s an award-winning math program for kids of ages 5-10. It can be used both at home and in schools. It’s available on pc, iPads, and Android tablets. In fact, Splash Math works across multiple platforms and devices. It has benefited over 9 million kids and has been used in over 50,000 classrooms. What made it perfect for homeschooling, is being able to personalize the math practices depending on my children’s level of mastery. And the fact that it covers grades from Kindergarten all the way through 5th.
Splash Math also works amazingly well for kids who tend to have trouble keeping focused when staring at boring textbooks or worksheets because it’s designed to look like a game. It rewards you when you get the answers correct and the fun characters and colors seem to grab my kids attention.
As a homeschooling mom, I need to be able to see what my kids at understanding and what they are having trouble with. Luckily, Splash Math collects the practice data and shares analytical reports with me or teachers, if being used in a classroom. And I know they aren’t missing any curriculum because it covers all the necessary math skills for their grade.
Splash Math is an amazing resource that all parents should look into. Whether you’re just hoping to help your children better understand what they are learning in school or if you’re a homeschooling parent. It’s fun and informative.
