Today’s been the coldest day we’ve had in Texas so far this Fall. And here’s a little secret, I don’t do cold. So when the weather starts to turn, I break out my thick socks, fuzzy pajama bottoms, and every hot drink I own. Anything to keep me warm. Normally, when layers of clothing don’t work a hot beverage always does the trick. Tea is the perfect way to warm up on a cold day plus depending on the type, I can perk up, go to sleep, or even treat an upset stomach.
But I quickly learned that not all tea is equal. For example, you can buy the same type of tea from different brands and end up with totally different tastes. Some of are okay and some are just awful. And over half the times, you never really know where that tea comes from. I used to stick with just a few brands because I was tired of gambling with my money and my taste buds. Adagio Teas lets me know exactly what I’m getting, where it’s from, and they even sell sample packs so I can try it out without spending all my money on a full-sized package.
Adagio Teas isn’t your normal tea selling company. They offer gourmet teas sourced from all around the world. Created back in 1999, Adagio Teas is a family owned business that wanted to make gourmet teas more readily available to consumers. Since then the company has greatly expanded and now offers over 100 different types of teas available in different sizes, loose, or in bags.
Adagio Teas makes finding the perfect tea amazingly simple. You can search by the type of teas you’re looking for from White Tea, Black Tea, Flavored Teas, Chai, Oolong, Green, Matcha, Herbal, Decaf, Pu-Erh, or Masters. They offer many choices. Find one you’re interested in and find out more information such as where it comes from, what flavors or notes you can expect and even read real customer reviews! They also let you know the caffeine level and the temperature and time that’s ideal to get the best flavor. Another great feature about shopping with Adagio Teas is the ability to ask questions about the teas before you try them. Normally, someone from the community or even Adagio Teas will answer your questions promptly.
They offer very reasonable prices depending on what you’re looking for. You can buy most teas in either bags or loose leaf. And some even come in special sampler packages such as the Sweet Tooth Tea sampler pack which contains 4 different loose leaf tea samples. FYI, each sample pack makes about 8-10 cups of tea. Very generous samples! This specific sampler pack contains Chocolate Chip Tea, Tiger Eye, Cream, and Caramel. Each tea is absolutely amazing if you’re someone like me who really enjoys sweets. Plus, it’s a great way to introduce yourself to new teas. Before the sample pack, I probably would have never tried Tigers Eye but it’s quickly become one of my new favorites.
If you’re into herbal teas, they’ve got some high-quality choices. Actually, they’ve got 26 different herbal teas to choose from. From simple herbal teas like Chamomile, Spearmint and Lemon Grass to complex unique blends like Bonfire, Berry Bast, and Tumeric Bliss, Adagio Teas is the place to shop. I went for the very basic yet high-quality Chamomile tea. This tea from Adagio Teas comes from the finest chamomile flowers from the Nile River Valley in Egypt. It’s made with whole flower pieces and is caffeine-free. This is the tea I turn to when I’m restless or can’t sleep at night. The flavor is floral and sweet, especially when you add some organic local honey. After the first sip, I could tell it’s a way higher quality then anything I’ve bought from a grocery store.
The majority of the time, I drink tea to give me a caffeine boost because taking care of my family plus my blogging usually leaves me needing a mid-day pick-me-up. And the great thing about tea is different teas have different levels of caffeine. So if it’s later in the day, I usually go for a tea that has less caffeine then the one I would drink in the morning. But a great tea with higher levels of caffeine to start your day off is the Adagio Teas Earl Grey Lavender Tea. This tea is very fragrant due to the lavender flowers and has a hint of citrus when steeped. It’s a great breakfast tea.
There are times when I want the enjoyable experience of drinking tea without the caffeine and the Rooibos Vanilla Chai Tea is an amazing decaf tea. This tea has a blend of rooibos, vanilla, and Chai Spice. It’s spicy yet full flavored and the reviews online are great. It contains ginger root, cinnamon bark, cloves, and orange peels. This is definitely a tea for someone who wants more flavor. I think it’s a perfect tea for a cold fall evening.
Adagio Teas also offers cold-brewed teas such as the Peach Oolong Cold-Brew Iced Tea. These cold-brewed teas come in a large pouch that when brewed makes 40oz of iced tea. Iced tea is basically a delicacy here in the south. We have it with almost every meal and even more so during the hotter months. This Peach Oolong Iced Tea is amazingly easy to make. Simply place the pouch in a pitcher of water overnight and it’s ready to go the next day. This is the perfect tea to take to a bbq or family get together and it’s sure to get a conversation going. With its oolong tea sourced from Taiwan and the distinct peach scent, this is the perfect summer tea.
Back when I first started stepping into the tea world all I knew was supermarket teas in bags but I’m learning that there are more choices and loose tea offers many more options for getting the best flavors. Adagio Teas offers a large selection of different Teawares. One of those is their IngenuiTEA teapot. This teapot has changed the way that I drink tea. It’s a 16 oz teapot made of Tritan, a specially formulated plastic that can handle hot temperatures. The bottom of the IngenuiTEA teapot has a mesh filter that keeps your loose tea from getting in your cup. It works by placing your hot water and loose tea in the top of the teapot. It brews right there and is actually fascinating to watch. When it’s ready to drink, you place your cup underneath the teapot which releases a valve and pours the tea directly into your cup. It’s amazing!
I can actually get about two cups of tea from each full pitcher. And I love not having to get up and brew another cup. I take the IngenuiTEA with me where I’m sitting or working. I love this teapot!!
After spending some time searching the Adagio Teas site, I know that I’ll never go back to buy supermarket tea again. Everything is so top quality from the teas themselves all the way to the customer service! I love being able to read real reviews and ask questions before I buy. I’ve mentioned a just a few items here in this post but that’s just the tip of the iceberg of all the products that Adagio Teas offers. They’ve got gift boxes, Tea of the Month club, Pantry items and more. I highly recommend spending some time on the site just looking at all they offer.
