The summer is full of fun activities that require a bathing suit. Our family spends 90% of our summer break at the pool, lake, creek, splash pads, and water parks! We love cooling off from the hot Texas heat and just laying around in our bathing suits. But what’s not so fun is when you’re far from home and your “monthly visitor” comes calling. Being in a swimsuit is about the worst time I want to be caught off guard. That’s why I stay prepared with o.b. Tampons!
The main reason I choose o.b. Tampons is because they are applicator free which greatly reduces the size of the packaging. This means it’s easier for me to carry them in my purse, baby bag, pocket, and even beach bag. The smaller size also allows for being more discreet. If you’re are someone who prefers to be more private about this situation, o.b. Tampons are very easy to hide. They fit in just about every pocket or you can easily go with the up-the-sleeve trick. In fact, the ability to be so discreet is what made o.b. Tampons so popular in America.
Fun fact, o.b. Tampons were created by a German gynecologist, Dr. Judith Esser. She sought out to create a tampon that was easy to use, comfortable and provides great protection. Thus o.b. Tampons were born. Today they are made of two types of rayon and a polyester string made from 90% raw materials that come from renewable resources. Each o.b. Tampon is created using elemental chlorine-free” bleaching processes, which do not cause the production of dioxins. It’s also important to add that they have never been or will be made with asbestos.
One of the benefits of using a tampon without an applicator is being able to follow your own natural curves when applying. And yes, because there is no applicator, you use your own fingertip but trust me, it’s a good thing. An applicator is rigid and straight when your body isn’t actually built that way. We have a natural curve so using your finger makes inserting easier. And no matter how heavy or light your flow is, o.b. Tampons has a range of sizes to work with you. They have Regular, Super, Super Plus, and Ultra. And if you’re someone like me who has heavier days then lighter days, o.b. Tampons has a multipack so you can vary the sizes based on your days.
As far as absorbency goes, I am very happy with o.b. Tampons. They work great for my cycles and it’s very rare that I leak when using them. I think it has to do with their Fluid-Lock grooves. These grooves guide the fluid towards the core of the tampon to give up to 8 hours of protection. I can wear them to bed without waking up with any surprises and their almost nonexistent when inserted. Their smaller size just makes them perfect for just about everything. And I love the o.b. Tampon carrying cases. They are made to specifically hold the tampons and honestly, they are just too cute.
When I have to use a tampon, I choose o.b. Tampons not only because I can carry them discreetly but because they work for my body.
