Getting kids to exercise these day is really hard. I know for me it’s a daily struggle to get my kids away from their computers and game systems just to go do something active. Exercise is important to a healthy child lifestyle. It helps fight childhood obesity as well as develops an overall healthy state of mind. Flip 2 B Fit has created a fun way to get kids active with their fun board games. My children don’t even know they’re being active. I was sent two of the FLIP 2 B FIT games to review: the Bakari Fitness Memory Game & the Flip 2 B Fit Fitness in a Box Game. Each game incorporates fitness in a fun competitive way that children love.
The Bakari Fitness Memory Game works both the mind and the body in a fun challenging memory game. The players attempts to match the cards using their brain power and every time they make a match they have to do the exercise that the card states. Each card is either a cardio, yoga, strength, or stretch card that asks them to do a certain exercise. Fore example, one card asks the player to do a Crab Crawl for 15 seconds. Another card asks the player to do a Standing Stradle Stretch. For each pair that is found a player completes the task and then keeps the points that each card states. The first player to 500 points wins! This game is for 1-4 players. It’s tons of fun and teaches kids many different exercise moves. My daughters had a blast playing the game. Every time a new card was found they just giggled away.
The Flip 2 B Fit Fitness in a Box Game is more of a traditional board game. There is a board and 4 different color game pieces. Each player (from 2-4 players) chooses a game piece and goes to their Home Color Circle to begin the game. The object of the game is to get to travel to the park and meet “Springer” in the playground. But the only way to get there is by spinning the wheel and flipping cards. Each card has a different exercise on it that allows you to move different spaces. The cards are different exercises from Cardio, Yoga, Stretching, and Strength. Cardio cards move you 2 spaces forward, Yoga cards move you 1 space forward, Stretching cards move you 1 space forward, and Strength cards move you 3 spaces forward. Each card is challenging but in a fun way. There are also Fact or Fiction cards that test a child knowledge of nutritional choices such as asking a child if the Dairy Group includes milk, yogurt, ice cream and pudding. If the child get the answer right then they move forward one space and if they get it wrong they move back on space. There are also Healthy Food Choices Cards (Move Forward 2 spaces) and Bad Food Choices Cards. (Move backwards 3 spaces). There’s even more challenging cards such as the Red Card that allows you to Pick it or Pass it, a Group Play Card or a Group Competition Card! All these cards make the game challenging and fun. The only way to move forward in the game is to perform the exercise on your card. It’s a TON of fun to play. I promise that each member playing will be laughing away! My family had a blast playing.
This is the most fun we’ve ever had as a family playing a board game. I highly recommend it to every family! It gets you healthier as a group and brings your family closer together.
